Overview and Learning Objectives

Life and Health insurance policies are legal contracts. As such, they are governed by many of the same legal principles that are applicable to the formation of any contract, plus specific principles that are pertinent to insurance only. In this chapter, we will first review the general principles of contract law, then look at insurance contracts.
